How do I fill my David Oscarson Fountain Pen?Three ways to fill your David Oscarson Fountain Pen: 1) Ink Cartridge Method seen at 00:30 - Remove the cap and unscrew the gripping section from the barrel. Firmly snap one of the ink cartridges (found beneath the cradle in your box) narrow end first, onto the stem of the feeder and its housing inside the threads at the bottom of the section. The feeder and housing will puncture the cartridge to allow the ink to fill the feeder. It will take a moment for the capillaries in the feeder to absorb the ink and begin to flow, so give it a moment to fill... Replace the gripping section onto the barrel and enjoy. (If desired, a spare cartridge can be stored in the back end of the barrel) 2) Piston Conversion Method seen at 01:25 - Remove the cap, unscrew the gripping section from the barrel. Slide the piston convertor (found beneath the cradle in your box) firmly onto the stem of the feeder and its housing inside the threads at the bottom of the section, as you would a cartridge outlined above. Then, with the piston extended all the way to the stem of the feeder, submerge the nib and feeder past the rim of the gripping section into your choice of bottled ink and twist the convertor in reverse to draw ink from the bottle into the convertor's reservoir. Once filled, eject a drop or two of ink from the convertor (to create an air pocket) back into the bottle by twisting the convertor slightly in the opposite direction, then retract the convertor back to its 'full' position. Wipe your nib and feeder clean with a tissue or cloth, replace the gripping section onto the pen barrel and enjoy. 3) Eye Dropper Method seen at 02:40 - Remove the cap and unscrew the gripping section from the barrel. Use the straight pin (found beneath the cradle in your box) to insert the extra rubber O-Ring into the seating at the end (bottom) of the threads in the pen barrel. Using the eye dropper (found beneath the cradle in your box), fill the entire pen barrel with your choice of ink. Replace the gripping section onto the barrel and enjoy.
